This boat wasn't meant for paddling. A hundred feet out the
water was still too shallow for the dagger board. Caitlin (my first
passenger) and I found that out fast.
A very light wind moves us...not at all...
A little more wind and we move! The rescue canoe is not needed.
The three piece laminated mast I made didn't last long. Then it
was back to the old stair bannister from my basement stairs...I laced the
sail directly to the mast. Next year I think I may cop-out and use
a spirit sail.
