I became interested tornadoes when I saw a giant tornado simulator at the Children’s Science Center in Calgary, Alberta. When I heard it was science fair time I had some trouble deciding what to do, but my final decision was to build my own simulator. Another thing that influenced my decision is that when my dad was younger he and my grandmother built a tornado simulator with the same plans from the 1962 World Book Encyclopedia. Since that encyclopedia is long gone it took some digging to find the plans.
Question: How are tornadoes formed???
Hypothesis: Think about your bathtub. It is the same concept.
The updraft is sucking air particles up. As the air particles go
up they bump into each other. As the air particles start moving in
the same direction it starts to rotate, causing a tornado.
